Assurancia Groupe Tardif – Sherbrooke
About us
History
Located in Gatineau, in the Outaouais region, Assurancia Gatineau began its history in 1984 when Sylvie Myre D’Aoust and Joanne Allard Rochon opened their first office in Gatineau: Assurance Allard & Myre. Thanks to word-of-mouth, the family business is already serving around 100 customers in its first year.
In 1986, Benoit Allard, a seasoned insurance professional who had sold his practice in 1976, joined the team as a partner. In 1991, Michel Duciaume joined the firm as a partner. From 1992 to 2001, under the leadership of four experienced owners, the firm really took off.
In 2001, the firm acquired insurance firm François Lavigne Assurance. The firm changed its name to AssurExperts Gatineau.
In 2003, when Mr. Benoit Allard retired, Sylvie, Joanne and Michel bought out his shares and became the only three owners of what is now a multidisciplinary insurance firm.
In 2008, the firm joined the group of founding brokers of Assurancia, and its owners are among the 11 original shareholders of the banner. The firm changed its name to Assurancia Gatineau.
In 2010, the firm acquired Assurance Nadon Laroche Inc.
In 2015, Maxime Duciaume became co-owner of Assurancia as the firm’s official successor.
In 2018, the firm accelerated its growth with the purchase of Wawanessa, followed by Assurances Kelly & Associés in 2019 and Assurancia D. Bonhomme in 2020.
With over 30 certified brokers, Assurancia Gatineau is recognized in the Outaouais region as a leader in insurance and financial services. Our reputation is built on personalized service that puts the customer first.
A member of the Regroupement des cabinets de courtage d’assurance du Québec (RCCAQ), Assurancia Gatineau is proud to be involved in sports, particularly amateur field hockey and figure skating.
For several years now, employees have been raising funds weekly to support various organizations in the Outaouais region, including the Centre Espoir Rosalie, a center for women in need, and the Maison Mathieu Froment-Savoie, a palliative care center, as well as cancer patients requiring prostheses or special care, and the Jasmin Roy Foundation to prevent bullying in schools. The firm also contributes to Rêves de Monique, a foundation that helps and supports cancer patients in the Outaouais region.
