History

Located in the city of Gatineau, in Outaouais, the insurance firm assurancia Gatineau began its history in 1984 when Mrs. Sylvie Myre D'Aoust and Mrs. Joanne Allard Rochon opened their first office in Gatineau: Assurance Allard et Myre. Thanks to word of mouth, the family business already serves a hundred customers in its first year.

In 1986, Mr. Benoit Allard, a seasoned insurance professional who had sold his firm in 1976, joined the team as a partner. In 1991, it was Mr. Michel Duciaume's turn to join the firm as a partner. From 1992 to 2001, under the direction of four experienced owners, the firm really expanded.

In 2001, the firm acquired the insurance firm François Lavigne Assurance. The firm then changed its name to AssurExperts Gatineau.

In 2003, when Mr. Benoit Allard retired, Sylvie, Joanne and Michel bought out his shares and became the only three owners of the insurance firm, now a multidisciplinary firm.

In 2008, the firm joined the group of founding brokers of Assurancia, and its owners are among the 11 original shareholders of the banner. The firm then took the name of Assurancia Gatineau.

In 2010, the firm acquired Assurance Nadon Laroche Inc.

In 2015, Maxime Duciaume became co-owner of Assurancia as an official successor to the firm.

In 2018, the firm accelerated its progress with the purchase of Wawanessa then Assurances Kelly & Associés in 2019 and Assurancia D. Bonhomme in 2020.

With more than 30 certified brokers, Assurancia Gatineau is recognized in the Outaouais as a leader in the field of insurance and financial services. Our reputation is based on personalized service that places the customer at the center of our concerns.
